Walpole sits in the heart of Norfolk County, a town of about 26,000 split between a classic New England center on Main Street and a heavily traveled Route 1 commercial strip in East Walpole anchored by the Walpole Mall. It is also a manufacturing town — Siemens Healthineers runs one of its major diagnostics manufacturing campuses here, and Hollingsworth & Vose has been headquartered in East Walpole for generations. Busy state highways, big retail, and industrial employers produce the cases we handle every day: car crashes, premises injuries, and workplace accidents.
Shea Culgin Law represents Walpole clients from our office at 1350 Belmont Street, Suite 109, Brockton, MA 02301 — roughly a half-hour drive via Route 27 or Route 106/Route 24. Robert Shea and Joseph Culgin have spent over 20 years handling injury and workers’ compensation cases throughout Norfolk and Plymouth Counties.
The Courts That Handle Walpole Cases
- Wrentham District Court, 60 East Street, Wrentham, is Walpole’s district court, covering Foxborough, Franklin, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Plainville, Walpole, and Wrentham. Smaller civil suits and small claims from Walpole are heard there.
- Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham takes the serious injury and wrongful death cases arising in Walpole.
- Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) — workplace injury claims never go to these courts at all; they move through the DIA’s administrative process.

Walpole FAQ
Walpole has no hospital. Where do injured residents end up?
With Norwood Hospital closed since 2020, the town’s own emergency planning materials point residents to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham, and Milford Regional Medical Center, among others. Where the ambulance takes you has no bearing on your legal rights — and the transport cost itself is part of your claim.
Is Wrentham District Court where my injury lawsuit gets filed?
Only for smaller cases. District courts handle civil claims of modest value; significant injury and wrongful death suits from Walpole are filed in Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham. Workers’ comp disputes go to the DIA. We choose the venue that fits the case.
What does hiring you cost up front?
Nothing. The consultation is free and injury cases run on contingency — our fee comes out of the recovery, and only if there is one.
