Canton may be a suburb of about 24,000, but it carries big-city traffic and a corporate employment base to match. I-93 and I-95 meet at the Canton interchange — one of the most congested highway junctions in Massachusetts — Route 138 runs the length of town toward the Blue Hills, and the Cobbs Corner retail district sits where Canton meets Sharon and Stoughton. Royall Street hosts Dunkin’s corporate headquarters and Computershare’s offices. Where there is this much traffic, retail, and employment, there are crashes, falls, and workplace injuries — and Shea Culgin Law handles all three for Canton residents.
Our office at 1350 Belmont Street, Suite 109, Brockton, MA 02301 is about 20 minutes from Canton Center — straight down Route 138 and Route 27, or via Route 24. Robert Shea and Joseph Culgin have represented injured people in this region for more than 20 years.
Canton’s Courts
- Stoughton District Court, 1288 Central Street, Stoughton, is Canton’s district court, serving Avon, Canton, Sharon, and Stoughton — about ten minutes from Canton Center. Smaller injury suits and small claims go here.
- Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham handles serious injury and wrongful death cases arising in Canton.
- Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) — Canton workers’ compensation disputes are administrative matters before the DIA, not the courts.

Canton FAQ
Which emergency rooms serve Canton?
Canton has no acute-care hospital — Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, the state pediatric rehabilitation facility in town, is not an emergency department. Injured Canton residents are typically transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton or to Boston Medical Center – South (the former Good Samaritan Medical Center) in Brockton, or into Boston for major trauma. Norwood Hospital, once another nearby option, has been closed since 2020.
Where would my Canton injury lawsuit actually be filed?
Smaller cases go to Stoughton District Court on Central Street. Significant injury and wrongful death claims are filed in Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham. Workers’ comp disputes proceed at the DIA. We practice in all three forums.
How quickly can you start on my case?
Immediately. Evidence in injury cases — camera footage, witness memories, vehicle data — degrades fast. The consultation is free and can happen the same day you call.
